"December 7, 1941 - A date which will live in infamy...."

Today, I post my annual tribute in remembrance and honor of my late father - a Pearl Harbor Survivor who always deflected accolades- "I was just another sailor doing his duty." Below is his ship, the USS Keosanqua - an ocean-going tug, his first-hand account of the attack written in his diary and the letter sent home to my grandmother the next day which took over a week to arrive and was the only confirmation that my Dad was actually still alive. 81 years later - let us pause to remember those who didn't get to write a letter home on Dec 8th and let us always answer the call to "Remember Pearl Harbor!"
